William Johnston & Company Limited are delighted to announce a successful transition in their Quality Management System from the ISO 9001:2008 standard to ISO 9001:2015 six months ahead of the required implementation date of 14 September 2018.

Our certifying body, BSI, carried out their audit of our new procedures in February 2018 and confirmed that we met all the necessary requirements. This was a significant undertaking as the new standards incorporate major changes compared to previous versions. These include addressing: –

– the context of the organisation;
– risks to the business from adopting new and maintaining strategies;
– leadership – top management input and output and awareness of day to day running of the business.

The company’s decision to become ISO 9001:2015 certified is a proactive one that not only anticipates the demands of our customers, but also demonstrates a commitment to providing first class products and services to all our customers through a fully up to date quality system.

To become ISO 9001:2015 certified, the company underwent an evaluation process that included quality management system development, a management system documentation review, pre-audit initial assessment, and clearance of non-conformances. This process was conducted by Ronnie Omand, the company’s Production Manager in Glasgow who following the successful BSI audit commented:

“In addition to the many internal benefits of operating a contemporary quality management system, having external certification to ISO 9001; 2015 enables us to demonstrate our commitment to manufacturing quality products for our customers and provides them with the assurance that we operate within a controlled framework, giving them confidence in our ability to deliver our products and services effectively and safely.”
