William Johnston & Company Limited has been manufacturing high quality gaskets for a range of industries for nearly 70 years. This unrivalled experience means that we are now one of the leaders in the U.K. market and our products are used in utilities, construction and engineering projects throughout the world. Headquartered in Glasgow, with a branch in Inverness and having many global customers, 60-70 % of the products we supply are delivered out with Scotland.

With around 30 employees, who are some of the most experienced in the industry, we are currently the largest gasket manufacturers supplying the water, waste water and gas utilities and the pipeline industry in the U.K. where we have long term supply agreements in place. Our niche service is the supply of flange sets comprising pipeline gaskets along with the relevant fasteners in a branded set which provides considerable savings in time, cost and waste for the end user. We also distribute to these sectors in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East, and, closer to home, our Inverness branch has been a main supplier to the Scotch whisky industry for over 40 years.

William Johnston & Company Limited has its roots in the UK’s traditional heavy industries and are main suppliers for shipbuilding and ship repair/refit projects in the private and defence sectors. In addition, bespoke and standard gaskets are manufactured for the pump, valve, engineering, automotive and many other industries; we also manufacture mud-flaps, steps, anti-slip panels and snow plough blades for the commercial vehicle market.

Our range also includes “O” rings, valve cones, valve/pump packings, industrial boiler seals and consumables and standard and specialist fasteners (including studbolts) for all pipelines and engineering applications. We supply metallic gaskets to the oil and gas sector for both pipelines and refining, whilst our rubber matting and anti-vibration strip is used across a range of businesses and industries.

Bespoke applications include the supply of seals and gaskets for signage, motorsport, tanks, motorised scooters, swimming pools, cooling systems etc.. We export to the Far East, all over Europe and North and South America.
