William Johnston & Company Limited’s range of graphite laminate materials are suitable for use at temperatures from -200°C to +550°, and are suitable to seal against a broad range of media and pressures.

Certified to International standards and manufactured within Europe, this range of graphite laminate products offer unrivalled quality and integrity. Flexicarb RGS1

General sealing applications and can be used for sealing steam and most chemicals with the exception of strong oxidizing media. It is particularly recommended where ease of gasket cutting is important.
The product is not recommended for sealing against strong chemical oxidising agents.

98% pure graphite foil.
13-micron pure nickel foil.

Flexicarb RGS3

Recommended for applications involving high sealing stresses and where high blowout resistance is required. The inclusion of the steel reinforced layer gives rise to a robust sheet. RGS 3 can be used to seal a wide range of media at moderate combinations of temperature and pressure.
The product is not recommended for sealing against strong chemical oxidising agents.

commonly used as a back-up sheet
for Novus TI due to the ease of

General use throughout industry in pipeline and vessel applications. Its wide temperature range and excellent stress retention make it ideal for steam systems and process duties in the petrochemical and manufacturing

Graphite based sealing materials are great at compensating for minor imperfections on the flange sealing surface. Combining graphite with stainless steel or nickel reinforcement increases the performance. Different styles of reinforcement are available, so please consult with William Johnston and Company Limited to ensure you have the best available material for your application.
